Matoka's Story

Matoka Kazadi is 4 years old and was born on 20/12/98.

Matoka and his brother and sister were living rough on the streets and were in serious risk of starvation, disease and death before they were rescued.

He now lives within the local community in Lubumbashi and is relatively safe. His father was a soldier who was killed in the recent war in D.R. Congo and his mother is believed to have died of HIV/Aids. He is totally dependent on The Lily Foundation to provide him with a roof over his head, food, clothing and medical care.

He now has a sponsor which will mean that Matoka will receive the best of care and will be able to attend school on a full time basis.

He lives in a rented house with 10 other children and is cared for on a daily basis by some of the elderly ladies.
